An evolutionary theory of fairness

24 October 2012

The annual Esmée Fairbairn lecture for 2012, organised by Lancaster's Economics department, was given by Professor Ken Binmore CBE.

Professor Binmore is a leading authority on game theory in general and evolutionary games in particular. His lecture provided a brief overview of his evolutionary theory of fairness.

The ideas are fleshed out in his book Natural Justice, which is itself a condensed version of an earlier two-volume book Game Theory and the Social Contract.
